MSc in Digital Humanities

THE PROGRAM

The MSc in Digital Humanities, a collaborative program by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Cyprus, and the ATHENA Research Center, focuses on the critical role of Digital Humanities in safeguarding cultural heritage. It aims to profoundly support the study of the Humanities, Cultural Heritage, and Assistive Technologies utilizing innovative methods and tools developed within the frame of Digital Humanities. 

It includes four specializations:

  • Data Analytics for Humanities
  • 3D Technologies
  • Augmented Textual Studies
  • Geographic Information Systems

The duration of study is three (3) academic semesters.

The Curriculum includes two (2) semesters dedicated to courses. This foundational coursework, requiring successful completion, equates to 30 ECTS per semester.

The final semester is devoted entirely to the preparation of the MSc Thesis, a significant research project that allows students to delve deeply into a topic of their choice within their specialization. Supervised by a faculty member, this thesis work is also valued at 30 ECTS, culminating in a total of 90 ECTS for the entire program.

The language of instruction is Greek and/or English.

The program structure also provides students with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed in their field, together with a range of career opportunities in academia, research, cultural heritage, and beyond.
