Sophia Aneziri graduated the History and Archaeology Faculty of the University of Athens (1989). From 1990 to 1997 she studied in a postgraduate level at the University of Heidelberg with the financial support of the IKY-scholarship and the Landesgraduiertenförderungsstipendium. In 1997 she held her PhD on Ancient Greek History and Epigraphy. She has taught as Adjunct Professor in the Ionion University, the University of Crete and this of Thessaly (1998-2001), as well as tutor in the Open University of Greece since 2001. She collaborated with the National Research Center for the publication of Index du Bulletin épigraphique (2002-2003). Since 2004 she teaches Ancient Greek History and Epigraphy at the Department of History and Archaeology in the University of Athens. She was visiting fellow in 2011 at the All Souls College in Oxford and in 2017 at the Kommission für Alte Geschichte und Epigraphik in Munich. She is responsible for the electronic database of inscriptions and papyri NAUTILUS.
